Francesca Hong Announces Candidacy for Wisconsin Governor

State Rep. Francesca Hong, a Democrat from Madison, has announced her candidacy for Wisconsin governor. Hong, who is the first Asian American state legislator in Wisconsin history, made the announcement in a recent interview.

Hong, a single mom and renter who continues to work in the service industry, has been vocal about her beliefs and experiences. She has described the Tavern League as corrupt and crooked, and stands by her comments, stating that it's important to speak truth to power.

Regarding the destruction of statues at the Capitol, Hong's chief of staff tweeted 'F*ck your statues.' Hong believes that the current regime is perpetuating cycles of violence and polarization by harming communities and distracting with blame.

The interview did not mention any downloadable apps or copyright information.

As governor, Hong plans to prioritize child care and fully funding public education, with a focus on supporting small businesses and caregivers. She is willing to work with the Trump administration if it provides resources for working class people and communities across the state.

Hong has experience working across the aisle to pass legislation, including Asian American education for K-12 public schools. She also plans to ensure resources for candidates across the state who are running as progressives and Democrats to help secure a majority.

Hong is a member of the Assembly Socialist Caucus. This is a widening Democratic primary, and Hong is running for the party's nomination for governor. Critics may say that comments like those contribute to more polarization, but Hong believes that her personal experiences make politics and government more accessible to the people. She believes that the people of Wisconsin work hard and deserve a governor who works just as hard.
