The glamorous venue will kick off on Monday, hosted by top BetMGM executives including Vice President of Trading Jason Scott. The event will also see a sneak peek of the upcoming NFL season and a revelation of BetMGM's biggest wagers and liabilities. deGrom Faces a Struggling Yankees Team

When the New York Mets faced the Yankees last month, they were missing injured ace Jacob deGrom. Now, he's back and ready to take on the struggling Yankees. In his recent four starts in August, deGrom has recorded 37 strikeouts, keeping an impressive ERA of 2.31. Despite entering August with the most runs scored of any team in Major League Baseball, the Yankees' batting average and run counts are among the worst this month.

Here's a passionate tweet from a facial Mets fan: "I predict @Mets #Jacobdegrom will strike out all 27 @Yankees batters on Tuesday. I've watched a lot of crappy #Yankees teams growing up. This is the most pathetic one I can remember. You listening #HalSteinbrenner. Fans stop going to games. Maybe he will finally notice." - Dion Taylor (@DionT2008) August 20, 2022

DraftKings Eyes Maryland Licensure

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency is set to meet on Thursday and consider the Sports Wagering Facility Operator License of Crown Maryland Gaming LLC, better known as DraftKings. DraftKings entered Maryland's market last August through a partnership with the Baltimore Ravens. With at least six retail sportsbooks already accepting legal sports wagers in Maryland, John J. Mooney, managing director of regulatory oversight for the Maryland Lottery, will give a presentation on DraftKings' qualifications for licensure. Mooney is likely to recommend that DraftKings has "clear and convincing" evidence for a license.

Nebraska Battles Northwestern in Dublin

Nebraska's long-awaited trip to Ireland is finally happening this week, after a year-long delay due to COVID-19. Originally scheduled to face Illinois in the 2021 season opener in Dublin, Nebraska moved the game back a year because of travel complications associated with the pandemic. Northwestern has replaced Illinois in the 2022 Aer Lingus College Football Classic at Dublin's Aviva Stadium.

Other Saturday College Football Matchups

  • UConn (+27.5) at Utah State - Total 60 (Over -109/Under -112)

Travers' Field Marred by Scratch of Charge It

The field for Saturday's Grade I Travers took a hit when trainer Todd Pletcher scratched Charge It with a foot abscess. Charge It, a 3-year-old son of Tapit, was expected to challenge favorite Epicenter after recording a dominating 23-length win in last month's Grade 3 Dwyer Stakes. The absence of Charge It removes a key challenger for Epicenter, who won last month's Jim Dandy Stakes on the same track at Saratoga Race Course.

Sunday, August 28

Flacco's Final Preseason Chance

The final day of the NFL preseason schedule will provide Joe Flacco with another opportunity to get familiar with his new wide receivers before the New York Jets' regular-season opener on Sept. 11. Flacco, a 15-year veteran, could start in Week 1 of the regular season vs. the Baltimore Ravens if Zach Wilson remains out with a knee injury. The Jets will face the Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Remember to keep an eye out for key industry events, legislative updates, and regulatory meetings in the sports betting world! Have a fantastic week, everyone!
