Corbett was an honorary trustee and a member of the Park University Trustees Society at the time of his death. In 2010, a stairway at Park University was named in honour of Corbett's legacy.
Corbett's service to Park University extended beyond his time as a student and alumnus. He served as commencement speaker in 1986 and was a Founders Day honoree in 1998.
In 1957, Corbett became a founding director and chief executive officer of the Wornall Bank in South Kansas City, Mo. The bank was later purchased by United Missouri Bancshares Inc.
