University Collaboration Announced: Park University Joins Forces with Kansas City Chiefs for Advanced Educational Ventures
Kansas City Chiefs and Park University Form Strategic Partnership
The Kansas City Chiefs and Park University have announced a new partnership that aims to support educational and professional growth for both students and employees of the NFL team.
Park University, an official partner of the Chiefs, offers accredited degree programs and has a relationship with the team that likely includes internship opportunities, such as in GIS, which may be connected to the Chiefs’ operations. However, specific details about tuition assistance, professional development programs, or community involvement initiatives related to this partnership are not documented in the available sources.
One of the notable aspects of Park University is its longstanding tradition of honoring military members and supporting veterans. Thirty-three of its 41 campuses are located on military installations throughout the country. The Chiefs will recognise a Park student or graduate who is a military veteran during their annual Salute to Service game this season.
Eligible Chiefs employees can receive reimbursement for tuition while enrolled at Park University on a per 12-month period basis. Park students will have the opportunity to interview for a position in the Chiefs Seasonal Assistant Program, with Park University now being the presenting partner of the program.
The partnership between the Chiefs and Park University will also offer professional development opportunities for students. Executive members of the Chiefs organization will visit Park University’s campus for speaking engagements each quarter.
The Chiefs Draft Day III event will be hosted at Fort Riley, Kan. for the third year in a row, further demonstrating the team’s commitment to supporting military personnel. The partnership aims to support and enhance Park University’s commitment to military personnel as well.
Shane Smeed, Park Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, believes the partnership will increase public awareness of Park University’s academic programs. Park University has also become the first-ever Official Higher Education Partner of the Kansas City Chiefs, and will be the presenting partner at the Chiefs Draft Day III event this year.
The Chiefs and Park University partnership is a significant step in providing opportunities for students to be involved with the Kansas City Chiefs, and in supporting the educational and professional growth of Chiefs employees, coaches, and players.
