Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG) Welcomes New Inaugural Curator of Education
After a rigorous national search, Stacie E. Brennan '03 has been appointed as the inaugural curator of education at the Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG). Brennan, who graduated from Lehigh University with a double major in art and marketing, and a minor in Spanish, will commence her role at LUAG on September 3, 2023.
Dr. William Crow, director of the LUAG and professor of practice in art, architecture, and design, expressed enthusiasm about Brennan's appointment. "Stacie brings a wealth of knowledge in arts education to her role at LUAG," said Crow.
Brennan's extensive career in arts education includes serving as director of education at the Main Line Arts Center in Haverford, Pa., from 2004-2015. More recently, she held the position of senior director of visual arts for ArtsQuest, where she led programs with contemporary artists, including several public art projects in Bethlehem.
Brennan's expertise and leadership were key factors in her selection for the role at LUAG. She will oversee all educational programming and visitor experiences at LUAG, with the audiences for these educational programs and experiences including Lehigh students and faculty, PK-12 schools and educators, and families.
Brennan's appointment allows her to return to Lehigh University after a successful career outside of the institution. She holds an M.S. Ed. in leadership in museum education from New York's Bank Street College, and her extensive relationships with artists and organizations in the Lehigh Valley will allow for stronger engagement with both Lehigh and the local community.
While there are no publicly available search results detailing Brennan's career history and achievements in arts education, her impressive resume speaks for itself. With her appointment, LUAG is poised to offer even more engaging and educational experiences for its diverse audience.
