Park University's Spring Highlights: Achievements Across Academics and Sports

Park University has been making headlines with a series of impressive achievements this spring season. From academic accolades to sports victories, the university continues to excel in various fields.

Academic Success

The university's commitment to academic excellence is evident in the numerous Team Academic Awards won by its teams. The women's beach volleyball team, among others, has consistently demonstrated a strong balance between academics and athletics.

Sports Accomplishments

In sports, several teams and individuals have made significant strides. The women's beach volleyball team, while not having specific competitive achievements detailed in the provided results, has earned first team All-America status for Arianna Marino and Grecia Ung. Merideth Rose, '06, MPA '08, president and CEO of Cornerstones of Care, was announced as one of the honorees for the Kansas City Business Journal's Women Who Mean Business Class of 2024.

Manoj Khatiwada, a graduate student in the Master of Science in Information Systems and Business Analytics program, was awarded a $2,000 scholarship from the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Kansas City. Gini Fite, adjunct instructor of sport and exercise science, will be recognised by the National Athletic Trainers' Association.

Community Involvement

Kari Rowe, a former Park University women's soccer player and a second-grade teacher at Line Creek Elementary School, was named the Blue KC Sporting Samaritan for April. Rikki Hacker, Park cross country / track and field head coach, provided comments for a story about Shawnee Mission East High School cross country runners joining the Park University Parkville (Mo.) Campus cross country team.
