Hear Ye, Hear Ye! The Teens of Kampala International School Uganda Sound the Alarm

A gang of clever kids from Kampala International School Uganda gave the *National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB)* of Uganda a bell-ringing visit with their deep dive into Ugandan teens' gambling vices. They scored data from 150 participants for their study.

Some eye-opening stats from their research showed a staggering number of youngsters partaking in gambling activities. To be precise, an impressive 70.3% of respondents confessed to immersing themselves in various gambling games such as sports betting, online casinos, lotteries, and scratch cards.

This research paints a concern-provoking scenario of chasing losses which can set the stage for addiction. 40.3% of respondents admitted to going all in and swinging for the fences after losing their dough, aiming to recoup their losses. Just 20.7%, however, bravely called it quits after a defeat.

Notwithstanding their exciting wins, the research showed an estimated average loss of UGX 115,332, pretty close totripling their perceived gains.

According to these whip-smart scholars, 150 questionnaires were conjured up and analyzed. This survey was part and parcel of their IGCSE Global Perspectives Team Project. To guarantee participant privacy, all surveys were handled top-secret, maintaining strict anonymity.

The NLGRB has teamed up with these intelligent youngsters to orchestrate an awareness campaign, aiming to keep minors away from gambling. They're hacking away at educating students on the risks associated with gambling, with an aim to foster a responsible gaming environment.
