Trump alleges that Harvard University is proceeding excessively sluggish in providing information concerning foreign students.

President Donald Trump has taken action to revoke Harvard University's ability to host international students, according to reports. The decision was made due to the university's alleged failure to provide requested information on foreign students, as well as accusations of creating an unsafe environment for Jewish students and promoting pro-Hamas sympathies.

Harvard University filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration Friday, seeking a temporary restraining order to halt the revocation. The lawsuit argues that the move is a violation of the First Amendment, the Due Process Clause, and the Administrative Procedure Act. According to the lawsuit, the revocation would impact over 7,000 students, more than a quarter of Harvard's student body.

In a letter sent to Harvard's leadership, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the university had lost its "privilege" to enroll foreign students due to its "refusal to comply with multiple requests to provide the Department of Homeland Security with pertinent information" and the creation of an "unsafe campus environment that is hostile to Jewish students."

Noem also requested records regarding misconduct and other offenses by international students, as well as records of any protest activity involving nonimmigrant students. Harvard was given another 72 hours to comply, but instead filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Massachusetts.

The dispute between Harvard and the Trump administration has escalated tensions and prompted criticism from political strategists. Clay Travis, founder of OutKick, and political strategist Lucy Caldwell have expressed their disapproval of Trump's decision, according to media reports.

As the legal battle continues, both Harvard and the Trump administration are set to appear in court for a hearing to determine whether the temporary restraining order will be extended. The outcome of the hearing will determine whether Harvard can continue to host international students during the ongoing dispute.
