Tech-savvy students explore upcoming advancements at the community playground
The TouchTomorrow Truck, a mobile learning platform focused on fostering student engagement and offering practical experiences beyond the traditional classroom, recently visited Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium in Bensberg.
From September 5th to 10th, the schoolyard was disrupted in a good way as the TouchTomorrow Truck set up camp. The visit was open to students of EF who attend chemistry and physics courses, all 10th graders, and a Diff course. A teacher from Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium, Arne Molis, a natural scientist, organized the event.
The TouchTomorrow Truck offers an interactive learning landscape with eight thematic stations covering central future topics such as artificial intelligence and robotics. Four MINT coaches moderated the visit, welcoming classes and dividing students into small groups. Each student was provided with an individual storage medium, an icosahedron, to save content.
During the visit, students worked rotationally at different stations and had a plenary discussion at the end. The hands-on experiences were well-received, with the students enjoying the visit. However, time constraints meant that not all students were able to visit all stations.
The TouchTomorrow Truck is part of a broader initiative to inspire students for MINT subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology). It aims to be a forward-looking initiative, inspiring students for careers in these fields.
The high demand for the TouchTomorrow Truck visit suggests there may be another opportunity in the future. In the meantime, students now have access to the TouchTomorrow app at home, which offers sustainable offers via an integrated code.
The TouchTomorrow Truck visit was a free newsletter contribution from the Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium, offering a unique and engaging learning experience for its students. Despite disrupting the usual school routine, the visit was undoubtedly a success, providing students with practical experiences that will undoubtedly inspire them for their future careers in MINT subjects.
