Stuttgart Exhibition 'Never Forget' Highlights Escalating Violence Against Public Sector Workers

Stuttgart is currently hosting a poignant exhibition, 'Never Forget, Hier arbeitet ein Mensch', which opened on October 1, 2025, by Deputy Minister-President Thomas Strobl. The exhibition, an initiative of the DGB and its member unions, aims to raise awareness about the escalating violence against public sector employees in Baden-Württemberg.

In 2024, the state witnessed over 14,000 attacks on police officers, around 300 on firefighters, and over 1,600 acts of violence against other public sector employees. These alarming figures have led the DGB Baden-Württemberg to call for improved protection and respect for these workers. The exhibition features 32 motifs, each telling a story of an assaulted employee, highlighting the reality of their experiences.

The exhibition was opened by Minister of Social Affairs, Health and Integration, Manfred Lucha, who emphasized the importance of remembering these incidents. The DGB has stated that such attacks are not just on individuals but on society, the rule of law, and democracy itself. The exhibition will be on display in Stuttgart until October 23, 2025.

The 'Never Forget, Hier arbeitet ein Mensch' exhibition serves as a stark reminder of the increasing violence against public sector employees in Baden-Württemberg. It is a call for action to ensure the safety and respect for those who serve and protect our society.
