Starting July 1, prices for school and kindergarten meals will escalate.
Beginning July 1st, changes will be implemented in the prices of children's meals in educational institutions across Nizhny Novgorod, as reported by GTRK "Nizhny Novgorod."
The city administration's decree stipulates that the daily cost for meals for children under 3 years old will rise to 169.87 rubles, while those aged 3 to 7 will see an increase to 189.13 rubles. This increase is attributed to a general hike in food prices and the indexing of tariffs.
Furthermore, the costs for breakfasts, lunches, and snacks in the city's schools will also increase from the current 96.63 rubles, 115.96 rubles, and 44.70 rubles, respectively.
For students in grades 5-11 in boarding schools, the daily meal cost will elevate to 308.02 rubles, a 16.89 ruble increase from the existing rate. The city administration emphasizes that this indexing of fees is necessitated by the overall hike in food expenses.
Nevertheless, discounts and compensations will continue to be provided for certain families and children.
In light of the city administration's decree, there will be an increase in the cost of personal-finance management courses, especially those focusing on education-and-self-development in financial matters, like learning to stretch a budget, due to the overall hike in expenses.
To balance this increase during such uncertain times, the educational institution may investigate the possibility of providing subsidies for students who demonstrate a keen interest in personal-finance learning and demonstrate financial need.
