Autohaus-Peter Group Welcomes Record Number of New Apprentices
The Autohaus-Peter group, a leading player in the automotive industry with 28 locations across 16 cities and four federal states, celebrated the arrival of 63 new apprentices on August 1st. This influx marks a significant increase in the number of apprentices at the Nordhausen-based company, now standing at over 150.
The welcome ceremony took place at the Mercedes car dealership in Hallesche Straße, Nordhausen, with senior CEO Helmut Peter, business managers Andreas Peter, and Christina Dost, along with almost all department and center managers and training managers, in attendance.
Helmut Peter expressed his surprise and delight at the high number of motivated new apprentices joining the company, stating, "We are thrilled to see such a strong interest in training at our Nordhausen company."
The high training quota at Autohaus-Peter can be attributed to several key factors. The company's strong local reputation as a reliable and reputable employer, its comprehensive training programs providing real practical experience, the consistent demand for skilled workers in the automotive sector, a supportive work environment, promising career prospects, local economic factors, and company growth all contribute to the high demand for apprenticeships.
Christina Dost, who spoke about in- and further training, future prospects, and the Azubi-Knigge, emphasised the importance of learning from mistakes and the journey that training represents. Team leader Mandy Stützer also gave tips on working together in the Azubi-Knigge.
The event also saw the introduction of the company through two films, aimed at familiarising the new apprentices with Autohaus-Peter's values and culture. Lilly Hecker, who finished as the best in her year in the third year of training, spoke about her experiences and the importance of training as a journey.
With an average employee age of 42 years, the Autohaus-Peter group is committed to nurturing the next generation of talent. The company sees the high demand for training as a clear sign that training has a future, and they are happy to contribute their part to it. The Benz Patent-Motorwagen from 1886 and the Fiat Topolino, an electric light vehicle from 2025, were on display at the event, symbolising the company's rich history and its commitment to innovation.
