Signet Bank, the top investment bank in Latvia, has been pumping life into local enterprises for years, and they're at it again with the third installment of their educational initiative, the Capital Market Academy. This program helps equip Latvian entrepreneurs with the know-how to raise capital through shares and bonds, providing a much-needed alternative to traditional bank loans.

With the Latvian economy increasingly embracing the capital market and local businesses seeking innovative ways to thrive, the Capital Market Academy has become a critical platform for entrepreneurs to explore their funding options and leverage the stock exchange for growth.

Over the last five years, no less than 50 Latvian companies have successfully raised a whopping €1 billion through bond and share issues—a testament to the capital market's efficacy as a strategic financing avenue for local businesses. And the Capital Market Academy is ensuring this route remains accessible, offering clear, practical guidance with a long-term focus.

Roberts Idelsons, CEO of Signet Bank, expressed his pride in the Academy's growing popularity among entrepreneurs. "The future success of Latvia's economy depends on knowledge, confidence, and a keen sense of strategy. We're here to help entrepreneurs think big and provide the necessary tools to make the capital market a strategic choice for businesses," he said.

The Capital Market Academy is more than just a one-day training session; it's an immersive experience where industry experts share both theoretical and practical knowledge on how to prepare for fundraising and triumph in the capital market. Participants are also exposed to the success stories of Latvian entrepreneurs who have already capitalized on the capital market to finance their growth.

Since its inception in 2023, the Academy has hosted nine events in Riga and regional cities like Liepāja, Valmiera, and Cēsis, and welcomed more than 200 entrepreneurs. According to a survey by Signet Bank, 37% were eager to learn about real-world entrepreneurial experiences, 35% were interested in share issuance, and 28% were curious about bonds as a financing method.
