Sheridan Teacher Wins $50K for School's Welding Program

Sheridan High School's welding teacher, Clayton Christensen, has been awarded one of the 25 annual Harbor Freight Tools for Schools prizes. The honour comes with $50,000, split between Christensen and his school.

Christensen, a local graduate from Wright High School, entered the contest to upgrade tools for Sheridan High's welding program. He aims to make welding an attractive career choice for students and facilitate their learning.

The Tools for Schools award, initiated in 2017, has now given away a total of $1.5 million. Christensen's win is a testament to his dedication and the value he brings to his students.

With the prize money, Christensen and Sheridan High School will enhance their welding program. This investment will benefit students and potentially boost the number of skilled welders in the future.
