Several Schools in Wittekindskreis Honored for Health Education Commitment
Several schools in the Wittekindskreis region have been recognised for their commitment to health education. Ev. Grundschule Löhne-Obernbeck, along with other institutions, received the 'Healthy School in the Wittekindskreis' award from Renata Lleshi of the Kreis-Gesundheitsamt and sports scientist Pascal Kramer.
Ev. Grundschule Löhne-Obernbeck stood out for its comprehensive approach to health topics. Students recently engaged in activities about dental health, nutrition, and social training, with support from external specialists. The Evangelical Lutheran Church congregation Obernbeck also backed the school, leading to a special award in 2025.
The 'Healthy Schools in the Wittekindskreis' program, supported by the Kreis-Gesundheitsamt, recognises schools implementing at least three healthcare measures and one for teaching staff's health. Apart from Löhne-Obernbeck, the Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg in Herford, the Grundschule in Westerenger, and the Erich-Kästner-Gesamtschule in Bünde and Kirchlengern were also honoured. The program offers free individual and group offers for students and staff, along with advice on 'growing up healthy and teaching health'.
Renata Lleshi and Pascal Kramer presented the awards, with Kramer leading exercises to boost students' coordination, concentration, learning ability, and motivation. Interested schools can contact the business office of the Gesundheitskonferenz or Renata Lleshi for more information on the 'Healthy Schools' program. Lleshi highlighted schools' crucial role in teaching children about health due to their influence on families.
