Scheduled SSC CGL Test of 2025 Pushed Back; Revised Exam Plan and Notice Document Available Now
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the postponement of the SSC CGL 2025 examination, originally scheduled from August 13 to August 30, 2025. The revised schedule for the examination is now set for the first week of September 2025.
The postponement comes following persistent technical difficulties affecting the Computer-Based Test (CBT) system. The SSC officially announced this decision on August 8, 2025, citing server crashes and system malfunctions across recent exams as the cause.
The SSC will release the detailed revised exam schedule and timing soon on its official website (ssc.nic.in). Candidates are advised to keep checking the official SSC portal regularly for updates to avoid missing important notifications.
Candidates should expect to receive their city intimation slips and admit cards about 7-8 days before the new exam dates. The SSC CGL Admit Card 2025 will be released approximately 2-3 days before the examination.
The postponement has given approximately 3-4 additional weeks to the candidates to prepare for the examination. However, the Tier 2 exam of SSC CGL 2025 is currently scheduled as per the original plan and has not been postponed.
The postponement was particularly evident during the SSC Selection Post Phase 13 exam, where candidates faced biometric failures, poor internet connectivity, and students being marked absent due to system malfunctions. These problems were attributed to severe technical glitches faced by candidates under the new CBT vendor.
Approximately 28 lakh registered candidates are affected by the postponement. The SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 examination has been rescheduled to the first week of September 2025.
