Communities Collect Slightly More Dog Tax - Saxony-Anhalt's Dog Tax Revenue Hits €6.651M in H1 2023
In the first half of 2023, municipalities in Saxony-Anhalt collected 6.651 million euros in dog tax, slightly more than the 6.623 million euros collected in the same period last year. Each municipality sets its own level of dog tax.
The city of Magdeburg alone contributed significantly to this total, recording 839,000 euros in dog tax. Halle followed with 597,000 euros. Other notable contributors were Lutherstadt Wittenberg and Bitterfeld-Wolfen, with 157,000 euros and 127,000 euros respectively. The three independent cities of Halle, Magdeburg, and Dessau-Roßlau together paid a total of 1.7 million euros in dog tax. Among municipal districts, Halberstadt recorded the highest dog tax revenues, with 214,000 euros.
The variation in dog tax collection reflects the different levels set by each municipality in Saxony-Anhalt. These figures highlight the significant role of larger cities in contributing to the overall dog tax revenue in the region.
