Russian Officials Warn of Digital Tech's Impact on Children's Development
Russian officials have expressed concerns about the impact of digital technologies on children's development. Olga Vasilyeva, head of the Russian Authors' Society, and Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov have both issued warnings about the potential dangers of excessive gadget use.
Vasilyeva, who succeeded Irina Shamratova as the head of the Russian Authors' Society, highlighted the challenges posed by digital technologies. She cautioned about the risks of mind manipulation and fraud, urging educators to safeguard preschoolers from virtual threats.
Kravtsov, the Education Minister, echoed these concerns. He advised that schoolchildren under the age of 16 should avoid active use of mobile phones and other gadgets. He cited potential hindrances to their psychological development as the reason behind this advice.
Both Vasilyeva and Kravtsov have raised important issues regarding the impact of digital technologies on children's development. Their warnings underscore the need for increased awareness and protection for young minds in the digital age.
