In a grand ceremony, the Centre for Integrated Rural and Tribal Development (CIRTD) from Sundargarh, Odisha, was awarded the 12th Shambhavi Puraskar for its exceptional contributions to rural development. The prestigious award, constituted by the Bansidhar and Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF), was presented by Union Minister of State for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Education, Jayant Singh Chowdhury, and renowned doctor Padma Shri Professor Dr. Ashok Kumar Mohapatra.

The Shambhavi Puraskar, a highly esteemed award in India, carries a cash prize of Rs 5,00,000, along with a citation and a trophy. CIRTD has been instrumental in improving the lives of farmers, women, children, and youth in Sundargarh district, Odisha.

Addressing the gathering, Jayant Singh Chowdhury highlighted Odisha's resource-rich status but emphasized that economic disparity remains a significant challenge. He suggested that more entrepreneurs are needed to create jobs and bridge the economic gap in the state.

The fireside chat at the ceremony, moderated by Mrs. Shaifalika Panda, Trustee and Founder CEO of BIPF, focused on the aspirations, challenges, and future opportunities of today's youth, emphasizing skill development and career preparedness. Young representatives from the skill sector and schools participated in the discussion.

Mrs. Panda underscored the importance of grassroots efforts in driving social change, stating that real transformation is rooted in deep human connection. She noted that the awardees are not just improving lives but reshaping the future with compassion and commitment.

In addition to the Shambhavi Puraskar, Dr. Sibaji Panda from Sonepur, Odisha, received the Jury Commendation Certification for his dedication to supporting children with hearing impairments. The certification includes a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 and a citation.

The Shambhavi Puraskar continues to celebrate and inspire changemakers, reinforcing the power of collective action and community-driven progress. Since its inception in 2014, the award has recognised and empowered over 20 grassroots changemakers. The ceremony amplified the impact of the recipients and inspired community-driven transformation.
