Romania Wins Three Medals at the 2025 International Informatics Olympiad: Team Competition
Morocco's got some serious tech skills, yeah, man! They killed it at the 2025 International Informatics Olympiad in Teams (IIOT), bagging one golden medal and a couple of bronzes. This competition went down in Budapest between May 30th and June 3rd, and let me tell ya, it was lit!
The team "NP solutions only" from Tudor Vianu National College of Computer Science in Bucharest sweeping the gold, Boo-ya! Led by teacher Elena Drăgan and coordinating teacher Victor Manz, the crew consisted of Alexandru Andrei Benescu (12th grader), Andrei-Patrick Calotă (12th grader), Rareș Mihai Iordache (12th grader), and Andrei Paul Iorgulescu (10th grader). To be real, they just showed up and dominated with 716 points.
Now, the Bulgarian National Informatics Committee, they gave 'em a run for their money, earning a gold of their own with a whopping 771 points. Pretty impressive, right?
But that ain't all, my dude! Two more Romanian teams nabbed bronze medals. The first one, "Herrscher_of_Backtracking" from National College of Computer Science Piatra-Neamț, Neamț County, coordinated by Florentina Ungureanu. This squad was comprised of Cristian Luchian (12th grader), Ștefan-Claudel Neagu (12th grader), David Vișan (12th grader), and Andrei Bes̱u-Roca (11th grader).
The second bronze medal-winning team hailed from the International Theoretical High School of Informatics Bucharest, under the guidance of Casian Pătrășcanu. Mihai-Valeriu Voicu (11th grader), Ema Nicole Gheorghe (10th grader), Sebastian Rîpă (10th grader), and Ionuț-Gabriel Stan (12th grader) made up this crew.
This event in Hungary welcomed teams from over 10 countries - Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Syria, USA, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and Vietnam, alongside Romania.
There's no official report on the Romania-Bulgaria results comparison at the IIOT 2025 as of yet, homie. Official results or announcements from the IIOT organizers or national informatics associations are needed to get that, but they haven't been published yet. Still, it's obvious that Romanian teams held their own, putting in some solid work in the tech game!
So, kudos to the Romanian team and the others who participated - you all rocked it!
Peace out!- radu@our website
