The Circles Police Department of Education of Oberberg District carried out targeted checks on speed and tuning in the Steinmüller area on August 22nd. The operation, aimed at ensuring road safety, resulted in several violations being detected.

A total of 62 speeding offenses were detected during the operation. Among the offenders, five drivers received fines for illegal tuning, while two drivers each received a notice of violation for using their phone while driving.

One of the most notable incidents involved a 50-year-old man from Gummersbach, who was driving at 67 km/h in a 30 km/h zone. After a police chase, the driver was caught and found to be driving without a valid driver's license.

The checks were assisted by the traffic accident prevention unit. In addition to issuing fines, the police also used the operation for educational conversations with the mostly young drivers.
