Pursuing Organic Farming and Delving into Hindu Scriptures: Amit Shah Reveals Post-Retirement Aims

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has underscored the scientific advantages of natural farming and outlined plans for reforms in the dairy sector.

In a recent address, Shah highlighted the benefits of natural farming for soil health, human health, and crop production. One of the key advantages of this method is its ability to improve soil health, allowing earthworms to return and convert soil into manure, enriching it without the use of chemical fertilizers.

The Home Minister also emphasized the health benefits associated with natural farming. By avoiding chemical fertilizers, diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorders, and even life-threatening diseases like cancer could potentially be prevented. Shah himself reported a 1.5 times increase in crop yields on his own farm after adopting natural farming methods.

Crop production is another area where natural farming has shown significant improvements. Shah shared his personal experience, stating that his farm experienced an increase in grain production by almost 1.5 times after switching to natural farming methods.

Water conservation is another benefit of natural farming. Unlike chemical farming, which can lead to water runoff, natural farming creates catchways that allow water to seep into the soil, thereby retaining it within the farm.

Moreover, natural farming eliminates the need for pesticides because it promotes healthy soil ecosystems that resist pests naturally.

In the dairy sector, Shah aims to better integrate rural farmers into cooperative systems. Plans have been announced to roll out veterinary services to cooperative dairies in 500 villages within the next six months. Dung management services will also be provided to cooperative dairies within the same timeframe.

Improved nutrition and health services for livestock are part of the Home Minister's plans for the dairy sector. The Ministry of Cooperation is also working towards effective cow dung management in the dairy sector.

These announcements underscore Shah's belief in the potential of natural farming and dairy reforms to transform rural livelihoods and contribute to a healthier and more sustainable agricultural sector.
