Primary School Löhne-Obernbeck recognized as a "Healthy School"
The Wittekindskreis district has recognised several educational institutions for their commitment to promoting health and wellbeing among students and staff. Among the schools to be honoured this year are the Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg in Herford, the Grundschule in Westerenger, and the Erich-Kästner-Gesamtschule with its locations in Bünde and Kirchlengern.
One educational institution that particularly stands out is the Ev. Grundschule Lohne-Obernbeck. With the support of external experts, they have implemented various health-related activities, including dental health education, healthy nutrition programs, and social training. These initiatives are particularly beneficial for students during stressful learning phases.
Pascal Kramer, a sports scientist and trainer in the "link moves" program, was involved in the certification of Ev. Grundschule Lohne-Obernbeck. He led various exercises for students during the certification, which improve coordination, concentration, learning ability, and motivation. As a result, the educational institution was awarded the "Healthy School in the Wittekindskreis" award.
The "Healthy Schools in the Wittekindskreis" program, supported by the district health department for nine years, offers schools support in implementing offers and activities on the topics of "health promotion and prevention". Educational institutions that implement at least three health-promoting measures and one measure for the health of teaching staff during the project period can be awarded the "Healthy School" certificate.
An overview of contact points in the Herford district that advise young people, parents, and teaching staff on the topic of "growing up healthily and teaching healthily" is available. Renata Lleshi, an employee of the district health department, was present at the award ceremony. She can be reached at 05221 13-2419 or r.lleshi@ourwebsite.
Educational institutions can obtain information about the "Healthy Schools" program for the current school year from the business office of the Health Conference or from project leader Renata Lleshi. The program offers free individual and group offers for students and teaching staff.
Health is considered a central prerequisite for successful learning, personal development, and social participation. The initiatives taken by these educational institutions are a testament to their commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of their students and staff, and the positive impact they can have on academic success and overall wellbeing.
