PowerSchool Opens Chennai Centre of Excellence for Global Tech Innovation
PowerSchool, a global leader in K-12 education software, has inaugurated a new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Chennai, India. The Chennai CoE will serve as a hub for building integrated solutions, strengthening customer services, and supporting international markets. This expansion reinforces PowerSchool's commitment to innovation and customer success, positioning India as a strategic hub for global operations.
The new 300-seater facility in Chennai is a key milestone in PowerSchool's growth journey, tapping into India's talent pool to accelerate innovation and global collaboration. Currently, PowerSchool employs approximately 1,450 people in India, with around 175 in Chennai and 1,300 in Bengaluru. The Chennai CoE will bring multiple teams under one roof, enabling closer collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing.
PowerSchool's Managing Director and Country Head, Apoorav Nischal, stated that India is central to PowerSchool's global vision of transforming education through technology. The Chennai CoE will focus on building advanced AI and machine learning capabilities to drive PowerSchool's global and India-focussed technology strategy. Recognized as a Great Place to Work in India in 2023, PowerSchool supports 60 million students in over 90 countries and 18,000 customers worldwide.
