Park University designates Yira Brimage as Head of Gilbert (Arizona) Campus

Yira Brimage, an experienced educator and community leader, has been appointed as the Vice President of Park University's Gilbert Campus, effective from November 15, 2021.

Brimage's extensive background in higher education spans over two decades. She began her career at Arizona State University (ASU), serving nine years in undergraduate admissions for various campuses and in student affairs for the ASU East (now Polytechnic) Campus.

Prior to her new role, Brimage served as vice president of student affairs and engagement at Pima Community College's downtown campus in Tucson for nearly four years. Before that, she held various roles with Maricopa Community Colleges, including vice president of student affairs at Phoenix College from 2010-14, and associate dean of enrollment services, dean of student affairs, and acting vice president of student affairs at Scottsdale Community College.

In her new position, Brimage will be responsible for leading the strategic growth and operations of the Park University's Gilbert Campus. Her responsibilities include academic programming, market development, community relations, fundraising, enrollment growth, student services, student academic support, student engagement, and athletic program development and growth.

Brimage is also an active member of Park University's executive leadership team. As an academic advisor at the Gilbert Campus, she helps students with academic planning, course selection, and navigating university resources to support their educational goals.

Beyond her work at Park University, Brimage is working towards her Doctorate of Education degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University, with an expected graduation in Spring 2022. Her dissertation focuses on "Latina Leadership in Community College."

Brimage's consulting firm, Brimage Consulting, specializes in working with educational, health care, and small businesses to prepare their workforces with competency-based skill development. She has also served as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Brimage has been active in the Tucson community, serving as a liaison with the Tucson Urban League and Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and as a board member with the University of Arizona Campus Christian Center, Wesley Fontera, Paiute Neighborhood Center in Scottsdale, Ariz., and Chandler-Gilbert (Ariz.) Arc.

Brimage holds a Master of Education degree in educational leadership and policy studies from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and communications from ASU. She is poised to bring her wealth of experience and passion for education to Park University's Gilbert Campus.
