Lisa Hickok has taken on a new role as the executive director of Park University's International Center for Music (ICM), effective from July 13, 2020. The ICM, established in 2003, is a renowned institution that offers degree programs in violin, viola, cello, and piano performance in the European apprenticeship tradition.

Hickok brings a wealth of experience to her new position. Before joining Merrill LLC and the ICM, she served as the executive director and marketing director for Summerfest Concerts Inc. Her career also includes the role of director of advertising and promotions for the Westin Crown Center hotel, and the director of creative services for Function Junction.

Hickok has worked with numerous organisations in the Kansas City region, including the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Kansas City Ballet, Junior League of Kansas City, Mo., Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, Literacy Kansas City, Belles of the American Royal, and Children's Mercy Hospital. She has also served on the boards of the Kansas City Ballet Guild, the Lumi Neon Museum, and Goodwill of Eastern Kansas and Western Missouri.

In her new role at the ICM, Hickok will focus on fundraising growth, audience engagement, community partnerships, and securing philanthropic support. Her work with the ICM is in an official capacity, indicating a permanent role within the organization.

Hickok founded Merrill LLC, a consulting firm based in Kansas City, Mo., in 2013, serving nonprofit organisations. Prior to her appointment, she had previously worked as a consultant for the ICM program since January 2017.

The ICM's faculty consists of a renowned international group of teachers, providing a focused and creative atmosphere for its students. The centre is dedicated to training and educating the next generation of accomplished musicians.
