New Director of Daytime Admissions
Joslyn Creighton, a seasoned professional in the field of higher education, has been appointed as the director of daytime admissions at Park University, effective July 6, 2021. Creighton, a resident of Leavenworth, Kan., previously served as the director of graduate admissions and student success at Park University since September 2019. In her new role, she will oversee the Office of Admissions team dedicated to serving the University's Parkville Campus daytime program. Creighton's responsibilities will encompass the recruitment of domestic and international students to the University and providing direction on policies and procedures associated with the admissions process.
New Director of Library Services
Danielle Theiss, a distinguished academic with a diverse background, has been appointed as the director of library services at Park University, effective July 1. Theiss, who hails from Prairie Village, Kan., earned a degree in psychology from Park University and is pursuing a doctorate degree in education leadership and policy studies from the University of Kansas. In her role at Park, Theiss will be responsible for the development and management of the University's McAfee Memorial Library and Learning Commons. Theiss brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having previously served as the vice president of the Kelleher Learning Commons and student development at the University of St. Mary, Leavenworth, Kan. Prior to her roles at USM and the University of St. Mary, Theiss served in library positions at Rockhurst University, Kansas State University, and Emory University.
Promotion for Scott Fergerson
Scott Fergerson, an academic and administrator associated with Park University, has been promoted to the position of Associate Vice President of Finance and Controller, effective July 1, 2021. Fergerson, a resident of Prairie Village, Kan., joined Park University in November 2016. His responsibilities at Park University include cash flow management, debt covenant compliance, financial statements, fiscal year-end audit, oversight of investment management for endowment funds, and preparation of the annual IRS Form 990. Fergerson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in international business from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., and a Master of Science degree in accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Prior to joining Park University, Fergerson spent a significant part of his career in public accounting as an auditor at RSM US LLP and BKD LLP. Before his career in public accounting, Fergerson was a track and field coach and an assistant football coach at Dodge City (Kan.) Community College.
