The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai has initiated the acceptance of applications for the Hamdan bin Mohammed Scholarship Programme for its second year. This program, established in 2024 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, aims to assist exceptional Emirati students in accessing top-tier global universities.
As a key element of Dubai's Social Agenda 33 and Education 33 strategy, the scholarship offers 100 fully funded scholarships annually, each valued at AED 1.1 billion. It primarily targets Emirati high school graduates, with the objective of fostering future leaders by providing world-class education opportunities.
In its inaugural year, the program received a substantial response, with all recipients securing placements at universities ranked among the top 200 globally. Notably, 15% of the inaugural cohort enrolled in institutions ranked within the top 20 worldwide. Students pursued diverse fields of study, such as technology, engineering, medicine, law, and finance, reflecting Dubai's development priorities.
Dr. Amna Almaazmi, CEO of Growth and Human Development at KHDA, emphasized the program's importance in equipping the next generation with global knowledge, contributing to a dynamic and sustainable future for Dubai.
