Newcomers Joining Nordhorn's Training Program
The City of Nordhorn warmly welcomes its new trainees as they embark on their apprenticeship journey. The induction days, planned and accompanied by the trainees of the second year, aimed to help the newcomers get started and provide a first insight into the city administration's structure.
The varied day began with a bike tour, including visits to external locations of the city. The trainees had the opportunity to explore the city on two wheels, making stops at various landmarks and departments. One such stop was the Nordhorn fire station, where they were given a unique view of the city from a rescue platform on a fire engine with a lifting platform.
The trainees also experienced a 'pedalo ride' on the Vechtesee, a fun and relaxing activity that allowed them to bond with each other and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. A joint barbecue with the youth and trainee representation was another highlight, providing a chance for the new trainees to mingle and socialise.
In addition to the fun activities, the trainees received practical training. They were introduced to IT training and 'knigge' (etiquette) training, essential skills for their future roles in the city administration.
The day ended on a high note with a joint bowling session. The exchange among the trainees was the main focus during this activity, allowing them to get to know each other better and build camaraderie. The day concluded with a hearty pizza break, a fitting end to an action-packed induction day.
The City of Nordhorn wishes the new trainees a successful start and an exciting and instructive training period. As they embark on this new journey, they can look forward to a supportive and engaging environment that will help them grow and develop into valuable members of the city administration.
