New Swimming Pool for Max-Ulrich-von-Drechsel-Realschule in Regenstauf

Construction of a new swimming pool is underway at the Max-Ulrich-von-Drechsel-Realschule in Regenstauf. The project, set to cost around 19.5 million euros, is funded by the Government of Upper Palatinate and the local market. The pool, designed by Wolfgang Gollwitzer of Studio Gollwitzer Architekten GmbH, broke ground in September 2025.

The pool will span 2,100 square meters, featuring an adjustable floor, changing rooms, technical spaces, and a supervision room. It will be barrier-free and double-practiced, with a green roof and photovoltaic system for sustainability. Concrete pouring for the ground floor was completed in late August, with basement work expected to finish mid-October.

Once complete, the pool will serve multiple schools in the area, including Diesenbach, Ramspau, and Steinsberg. It will be available for swimming courses and training for local water rescue services and sports clubs outside of school hours.
