New mayor greets 31 novice students and apprentices at the "Azubi Fit-Day" event
In the vibrant city of Willich, Germany, the first day of "Introduction Days" for the new trainees, interns, and apprentices was marked by an exciting "Apprentice Fitness Day" at the Moenchengladbach Sports Park.
The day was filled with workshops showcasing the latest fitness trends, including trampoline hall, padel, athletic training, "Inbody," and more. The event also included information sessions on healthy eating, aimed at setting the newcomers on a path towards a balanced lifestyle.
The city of Willich, in partnership with the Central Services department, organised this event, which was financially supported by the Barmer Health Insurance Fund.
Mayor Christian Pakusch personally welcomed each newcomer with a handshake, extending a warm welcome to the city team. The newcomers were also introduced to various important committees and contact persons, including the Head of the Personnel Department.
In addition to the fitness activities, the newcomers received training on occupational health management, fire protection, and occupational safety. They were also given initial training and instructions on practical aspects such as time recording, organizational structure, system connections, and email programs.
The 31 newcomers are distributed across nine professions: Practice-integrated training for kindergarten educators (14), recognition year for kindergarten educators (3), administrative assistants (3), Bachelor of Arts (3), gardeners (2), carpenters (1), emergency medical technicians (2), construction draftspersons (1), and 2 in the "Voluntary Ecological Year (FOJ)" area.
The second day of "Introduction Days" saw the newcomers receiving administratively informative sessions at the Technical Town Hall. This two-day event aims to introduce new trainees, interns, and apprentices to their roles and the city of Willich, setting them up for a successful start in their new careers.
