Vietnam-based conglomerate Masan Group has announced impressive financial results for the second quarter of 2025, with key growth drivers coming from its retail chain WinCommerce (WCM) and consumer segment Masan MEATLife (MML).

WinCommerce, which recorded a 16.4% revenue increase to VND 9.13 trillion, achieved its fourth consecutive quarter of profitability. The retail chain's average daily sales per store grew 10.9% year-on-year in Q2. Masan MEATLife also contributed significantly to earnings growth, with the meat segment revenue increasing due to higher live pork prices, the expanding footprint of WinCommerce, fast-growing processed meat, and emerging growth channels like HORECA for chicken. Processed meat grew by 22.6% year-on-year in Q2, reflecting MML's focus on value-added offerings.

Masan Group's EBITDA in Q2 was VND3.75 trillion, and the group achieved over 50% of its full-year net profit target by mid-2025. The group's net revenue in Q2 was VND18.32 trillion. Masan Group's H1 net profit after tax post-minority interest (NPAT pre-MI) nearly doubled year-on-year to VND2.6 trillion.

As of quarter-end, MML held a 62% market share in the protein category at WCM. WCM had a net addition of 318 stores by the end of Q2, achieving 80% of its base-case new store opening target.

Several categories within Masan's consumer goods division, MCH, remained resilient in Q2. Coffee, HPC, and exports saw growth of 1.8%, 1.3%, and 7.7% year-on-year, respectively. However, MCH's Q2 revenue decreased by 15.1% year-on-year to VND6.28 trillion.

Phuc Long Heritage, a subsidiary of Masan Group, reported VND434 billion in Q2 revenue and VND43 billion in Q2 NPAT. Masan High-Tech Materials generated revenue of nearly VND3 trillion and NPAT of negative VND212 billion in H1. In the same period, Masan High-Tech Materials achieved Q2 revenue of VND1.6 trillion and NPAT of VND6 billion.

Masan Group forecasts 2025 consolidated net revenue to range between VND80 trillion and VND85.5 trillion. The group's strong financial performance is expected to continue, with reduced financial expenses and a focus on growth opportunities across its diversified operations spanning retail, consumer goods, fresh meat, minerals, and finance. The divestment of H.C. Starck provided a profit boost, further strengthening the group's financial performance.

In conclusion, Masan Group's Q2 2025 financial results show a strong performance across its retail and consumer goods segments, with WinCommerce and Masan MEATLife driving growth. The group's focus on value-added offerings, expansion, and strategic divestments are expected to continue driving growth in the coming quarters.
