The International Center for Music (ICM) at Park University has been a hub of artistic activity. Ilya Shmukler, a graduate student in the ICM, performed a piece recorded during the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition on American Public Media's "Performance Today" program. He will also be performing his first concert in Kansas City since winning the Concours Geza Anda Piano Competition in Zurich, Switzerland, on Oct. 5.
Tatiana Dorokhova, another graduate piano student in the ICM, placed second in the piano section of the 2024 George Enescu International Competition. Behzod Abduraimov, the ICM's artist-in-residence, participated in an interview on KWJC-FM (Classical KC) in Kansas City.
