Lecture featuring Dr. Sara Doll discussing "Schafott to the Anatomy of Heidelberg" in Lahnstein
Dr. Sara Doll, a renowned figure in the field of anatomy and cell biology, will be presenting and reading from her book "Well-directed - From the Scaffold to the Anatomy of Heidelberg" on November 6, 2025, at 8:00 PM at Kaiserplatz 1, Lahnstein City Library.
Dr. Doll has been working at the Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology of the Medical Faculty Heidelberg since 2004. Prior to this, her career path led her through the anatomy in Ulm and a research position at the John A. Burns School of Medicine in Honolulu, USA. She began her journey in Bochum, where she completed her training as a preparation technical assistant.
In Heidelberg, Dr. Doll is responsible for the macroscopic preparation course, leads the pre-course for student assistants, has supervised several interdisciplinary teaching projects, and manages the anatomical collection. Her research interests lie in provenance research.
The book sheds light on an exciting chapter in medical history and is a co-authored work with Karen Strobel and Prof. Dr. Andreas Deutsch. Numerous publications, including those from Springer Verlag, showcase Dr. Doll's deep knowledge and passion for the intersection of medical history and teaching.
