Join 'Bufdi' - Fire Department Offers Voluntary Service Opportunities

The professional fire department is inviting applications for the federal voluntary service, known as 'Bufdi'. This programme allows young people to contribute to daily operations and participate in relevant training courses. Applicants must have completed their school obligation, but a driver's license is not required.

The fire department encourages initiative and supports voluntary service performers, known as 'Bufdis'. They can start their service in August or September, but positions are available throughout the year. The department offers two positions annually for Bufdis.

In Bretten and Herrenberg, young people are currently serving in the fire department through the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ). In Bretten, five young people are assisting with daily tasks, while in Herrenberg, they are focusing on civil and disaster protection tasks until June 2025. Bufdis may not participate in deployments but help with administrative tasks and projects. The fire department aims to provide suitable further training opportunities during the voluntary service year.

The professional fire department welcomes applications for the federal voluntary service. Applicants can start their service at any time during the year and will have the opportunity to contribute to daily operations and participate in relevant training courses. The fire department is committed to providing suitable further training opportunities during the voluntary service year.
