The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications using the Ruby on Rails framework. This role involves writing clean, efficient, and well-tested backend code, collaborating closely with product teams to understand user needs, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, and helping architect new features and solutions.
In this role, you will contribute to both backend and some frontend development, ensuring good design and user experience while pushing the limits of existing technology to build highly reliable and impactful healthcare-related software products.
Key Responsibilities
- Building and evolving large-scale practice management or SaaS platforms using Ruby on Rails.
- Taking features from conception through production, including architecture, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborating closely with product managers and other engineers to understand requirements and define the right technical solutions.
- Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code emphasizing test-driven development.
- Troubleshooting production issues, optimizing performance, and reducing technical debt.
- In some cases, contributing to frontend with frameworks such as React or Ember, alongside backend work.
- Working effectively in remote or distributed teams using tools like GitHub, Slack, and Zoom.
Required Skills
- Substantial experience (often 3-4+ years) with Ruby on Rails.
- Strong object-oriented and software design skills.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies.
- An appreciation for simple, elegant coding practices.

The US total compensation range for the full-time position is $150,000 - $175,000 (excluding benefits), with the compensation range determined by role and level.
