IBC 2025 Sessions and Key Points Unveiled by SMPTE
At IBC 2025, the world's premier media, entertainment, and technology event, SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) will present a series of informative sessions focused on innovations in media technology, AI, standards, and careers.
The sessions, which are free to attend and part of the IBC 2025 Partner Programme by SMPTE, will take place at the RAI Amsterdam venue, specifically in room E102, from Saturday, September 13, at 14:10 to 17:00.
The lineup includes:
- 14:10 – 14:45:Smart Workflows – Harnessing AI tools for Next Generation Content — This session explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping media workflows and content creation.
- 14:55 – 15:30:Securing and Standardising Control: Inside the SMPTE ST 2138 Ecosystem — Focuses on media device and service control standards, particularly the SMPTE ST 2138 standard for secure and standardized control systems.
- 15:40 – 16:15:From Classroom to Control Room: Building Careers in Media Technology — Industry leaders discuss career paths and skill development in the evolving media technology sector.
- 16:25 – 17:00:SMPTE Forward: New Standards, New Skills, New Communities — Presentation on upcoming SMPTE standards, new skillsets required, and building community engagement to support next-gen media innovation.
Saturday, Sept. 13, also sees two additional sessions: "From Classroom to Control Room: Building Careers in Media Technology" at 1540 - 1615 in E102, and "SMPTE Forward: New Standards, New Skills, New Communities" at 1625 - 1700 in E102.
In addition to the sessions, SMPTE will participate in networking events during IBC 2025. On Thursday, September 11, The Green Line Media Networking Event takes place from 1104 - 1615, traveling from London St Pancras to Amsterdam Centraal. On Sunday, September 14, BT Media and Broadcast is hosting a Drinks and Networking Event at Stand 0.A05 from 16:00 to 18:00. Registration for the latter event is available here.
