Hockinson School District to Boost Student Success with Otus Platform in 2025-26
Hockinson School District (HSD) is set to improve student outcomes and streamline operations with the introduction of the Otus platform. Superintendent Jerry D. Thramer, in collaboration with Discovery Education, is implementing this digital learning management and assessment tool from the 2025-26 school year onwards.
The Otus platform will provide HSD educators with a comprehensive view of each student's academic journey. It will consolidate past and current data from various sources, including Mystery Science by Discovery Education. This will enable teachers to set achievable goals for each student and deliver focused instruction. The platform will also enhance communication between families and schools by providing clear updates and progress reports.
The implementation of Otus is part of HSD's strategy to centralize assessment, grading, data analytics, and progress monitoring. This move is expected to save the district money by replacing several existing tools. Discovery Education, proud of their role in this partnership, anticipates that it will help HSD educators interpret data more effectively and deliver lasting results for their community. This initiative comes amidst Washington State's funding shortfall, with HSD focusing resources on student programs and academic achievement.
Starting in the 2025-26 school year, Hockinson School District will use the Otus platform to enhance student support and improve outcomes. This move, facilitated by Superintendent Jerry D. Thramer and Discovery Education, is expected to centralize operations, save resources, and foster better communication between families and schools.
