Highlighting Achievements of Our Institution's Faculty in the Academic Year 2023-24
The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) has once again proven itself as a hub of creativity and innovation, with its faculty members making significant strides in various fields.
Ravish Pandey, Lecturer at the Foundation in Design, bagged two prestigious awards at the Himachal Short Film Festival. His documentary project, 'INSIGHT/OUTSIDE', won accolades for Best Documentary Film and Best Mobile Phone Film. This 18-minute exploration commemorates the three-decade artistic journey of sculptor and practising artist Kishore Chakraborty, featuring curated visuals, emotive musical backdrops, and evocative voiceovers.
Prof. Snehanshu Mukherjee, Course Leader of Interior Architecture Design, also made a mark at several events. He attended two conferences: 'From Libraries to Laboratories' at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, and 'Architecture of Transitions: Framework Practices in South Asia' at the India International Centre, New Delhi. Prof. Mukherjee also participated in a panel discussion on "Architecture Education" organized by The Architects Association Agra (AAA).
In addition to his academic pursuits, Prof. Mukherjee co-authored the book 'Renewing Design with Communities' with Anisha Shekhar Mukherji. He also authored an article titled "Landscape, Culture, and Space" for the 75th edition of the LA Journal India.
Josh P.S., Associate Professor at the Foundation in Design, showcased his artistic talents at the 'Inscapes: In Search of a Place' Exhibition in Bikaner House, New Delhi. His emotive oil-on-canvas painting, 'Kalinga', is a testament to his dedication to using art as a powerful tool for social commentary and historical exploration.
Shaaz Ahmed, Associate Professor of Communication Design, also contributed to the arts dialogue. He authored an article titled "A Tryst Expanded Animation" in Arthart: The Arts in Dialogue magazine.
The Institute's achievements extend beyond individual accomplishments. In the academic year 2023-24, the IPEK – Institute for Product Development at KIT established the Mensch-Maschine-Symbiose-Labor, and Prof. Mukherjee was instrumental in this initiative. Moreover, the Willy-Höfler-Masterandenpreis was awarded during this period, further cementing KIT's reputation as a leader in product development.
These accomplishments underscore the Institute's commitment to fostering a vibrant and creative environment, where faculty members can excel in their respective fields and make significant contributions to society.
