Landshut City Administration Welcomes New Apprentices and Trainees

Mayor Alexander Putz of Landshut warmly welcomed 52 new apprentices and trainees to the City Administration, emphasizing the significance and future-proof nature of their career choice.

In September 2026, the Lower Bavarian district offices and the government of Lower Bavaria will offer training for trainee civil servants in administrative services. This will be accompanied by practical training locally and theoretical education at the Bavarian Administrative School in Dingolfing. Additionally, the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bayern Süd in Landshut will provide training for clerks in office management, combining practical training at their Landshut site with vocational school education.

The Police Headquarters of Lower Bavaria is also seeking a full-time office clerk at the Police Inspection in Landshut. These opportunities offer diverse public administration employment options for the new apprentices and trainees.

Putz stated that the new apprentices will make an important contribution to the city in the future. He expressed pride in welcoming so many young talents to the City Administration, and highlighted the importance of everyday necessities and the reality of life of the population for a functioning and livable city.

The City Administration is not just a place where people meet requirements; many are proud to work for "their city". Putz emphasized the need for committed people like the new apprentices and trainees to further modernize and make the service for the citizens more efficient.

The new apprentices and trainees were addressed by Mayor Putz in the New Plenary Hall, and were also welcomed by the youth representation. The personnel council also welcomed the new apprentices in Landshut City Administration.

The municipal tasks undertaken by the City Administration include education, childcare, construction measures, infrastructure, cultural projects, social projects, environmental protection, and more. The City Administration offers a wide range of apprenticeship opportunities in various fields including administration, technical, social training, and dual studies.

Putz called for young talents to apply for a career in the public service for the year 2026. All apprenticeship and study opportunities and further information can be found on a specific link.

The achievements of the City Administration employees are considered essential and deserve great respect and appreciation. Putz wished the new apprentices a successful start, joy, motivation, and long-term professional footing in the City Administration. He emphasized that digitization will simplify processes in the City Administration, but direct contact remains central in many ways.

The new apprentices and trainees will work in various areas including internal administration, City Works, and the Holy Ghost Hospital Foundation. A total of 19 apprentices started in the internal administration, one dual student, eleven female and male trainees, nine apprentices in the senior homes of the Holy Ghost Hospital Foundation, and twelve apprentices at the Landshut City Works.

The City Administration seeks more young talents for a career in the public service. Putz expressed his belief that the new apprentices and trainees will make a valuable contribution to the city and its citizens in the future.
