Grandchildren honor departed grandfather by earning degrees from same academic institution
Triple Graduates: The Orgill Sisters' Unforgettable University Journey
The Orgill triplets, Rose, Maudie, and Grace, made history as they graduated together from Cardiff University's class of 2025. Each sister earned honours in different fields: Rose with a BSc in chemistry, Maudie a BA in history, and Grace a BSc in biomedical sciences.
Initially, the sisters had plans to attend different universities. However, a visit to Cardiff University during an offer-holder day changed their minds, and they decided to enroll there together. To their surprise, they were assigned to the same six-person flat, a decision that felt like moving home for Grace and allowed them to make triple the number of friends.
The sisters' story is a testament to their close sibling bond and the emotional significance of their shared university experience. Despite studying different subjects and the university being big, they found themselves frequently bumping into each other.
Rose, Maudie, and Grace wore ribbons and forget-me-not flowers on their gowns during the graduation ceremony in memory of their late grandfather, who had passed away suddenly on the day of Rose's final exam.
After their graduation, the sisters have plans to travel, starting in south-east Asia. Maudie is considering returning to Cardiff for a potential law degree and conversion course, while Grace is considering joining the RAF. Phil Orgill, the father of the Orgill triplets, is looking forward to hearing about their travels at the end of the year.
Interestingly, all three sisters were involved in the Cardiff University Netball Club. Rose competed for the first team in varsity, Maudie captained the team in her final year, and details about Grace's involvement were not provided.
The graduation was an emotional event for the sisters, marking the end of their shared university journey and a new beginning in their lives. Despite their plans to travel and pursue different careers, the Orgill triplets will always share the memories they made at Cardiff University.
