Graduating Class of 2025: Commemorating Growth, Outstanding Achievements, and Global Preparedness

The Class of 2025 at our school has made a significant impact, demonstrating leadership, resilience, and empathy through various projects and activities. This exceptional cohort of 109 students, a record-high in our school's history, has excelled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), achieving impressive results.

Our school's educational philosophy emphasises wellbeing, global awareness, and purpose-driven learning. This approach is evident in the Class of 2025, who have showcased their skills by writing research papers, leading environmental initiatives, composing original music, and organising mental health awareness campaigns.

The average score of our school's Class of 2025 is 34 points, placing them 3.5 points above the global mean of 30.58. This success is largely attributed to a comprehensive educational approach that integrates rigorous academic components with the development of critical skills such as research, critical thinking, and effective time management.

Key IB elements such as the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) play a pivotal role in cultivating these abilities. The Extended Essay engages students in independent, in-depth research, honing skills in formulating research questions, sourcing credible information, structuring arguments, and academic writing—all essential for university readiness.

Through TOK, students develop the ability to critically reflect on the nature of knowledge, question assumptions, and appreciate multiple perspectives, fostering intellectual agility. CAS encourages holistic growth by cultivating leadership, teamwork, and social responsibility beyond the classroom.

This multifaceted framework nurtures academic excellence by ensuring students are well-prepared for university-level challenges, as evidenced by higher university retention and graduation rates among IB students globally. The program’s balanced workload across six subjects combined with internal assessments, projects, oral presentations, and exams ensures evaluation of a variety of skills, promoting deep understanding and mastery.

Regarding multilingualism and international-mindedness, the IB curriculum inherently promotes intercultural understanding through exposure to global issues and multiple cultural perspectives, encouraging students to consider both local and international contexts. This broad global outlook, alongside multilingual instruction that typically includes studies in at least two languages, fosters strong language skills and prepares students to engage effectively in diverse, international environments.

The IBDP program at our school focuses on personalized graduation pathways, supported by expert teachers, IB coordinators, and university counselors. A total of 85 students successfully earned the full IB Diploma, resulting in an impressive 98% diploma pass rate. Among these students, 87 were full IBDP candidates and 15 pursued IB Courses.

The Class of 2025 leaves with a foundation built on the school's values: curiosity, achievement, resilience, and empathy. This diverse group of students, who represent numerous countries, including Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, started their educational journeys at different points, with some students beginning at just two years old.

Mr. Marco Longmore, Head of School, emphasised that while the IB Diploma results are impressive, what matters most is each student's individual growth story. The school's Class of 2025 is prepared to contribute meaningfully to a rapidly changing world with the skills to lead, collaborate, and communicate effectively.
