Four Education Pioneers Honoured With 2025 McGraw Prize

Four visionary education leaders have been honoured with the 2025 McGraw Prize. Each recipient received $50,000 for their innovative contributions to learning. The winners were announced for their transformative work in digital literacy, student-centred learning, and improving access to education for marginalised communities.

Dr Cathy Davidson, a Distinguished Professor at CUNY Graduate Centre, was recognised for her efforts to reimagine higher education. She focuses on digital literacy and student-centred learning, empowering students to shape their educational journey.

Rapelang Rabana and Joe Wolf, Co-CEOs at Imagine Worldwide, were awarded for their scalable, solar-powered, offline tablets. These devices aim to improve literacy and numeracy skills in marginalised communities, providing education even where infrastructure is limited. Dr Frederick Bertley, President and CEO at COSI, was honoured for transforming a regional science centre into a global leader in STEM education. His efforts have reached over a million learners each year, inspiring a love for science and technology.

The McGraw Prize recognises and supports educators driving innovation in learning. This year's winners demonstrate a commitment to accessibility, student empowerment, and transformative education.
