Event Visit on Whitsun

On the Whitsun holidays of 2025, a group of 10 students from local middle and secondary schools participated in a "Job Tour" organised by the education coordinator of the Landshut district. The unique event, designed to introduce students to various industries, took place over several days and offered a hands-on experience in a range of fields.

The tour commenced on June 13th, with visits to several esteemed companies in and around Landshut. The students began their journey at Aristotherm in Ergolding, where they gained insights into the daily work in the field of heating and sanitation. They were tasked with creating a pen holder from sheet metal, providing a practical introduction to the world of manufacturing.

Next, the students visited Schott AG in Landshut, where they delved into the fascinating world of glass. They observed the melting, processing, and gold-plating of a digital dice component, offering a glimpse into the precision and craftsmanship required in this industry.

At ITIS AG in Altheim, the students explored the field of IT. They visited server rooms and performed various tasks on computers and servers, getting a taste of the technological side of the modern workplace. The students also assembled a digital dice themselves, a fun and educational activity that demonstrated the importance of teamwork and problem-solving in the tech industry.

The students also ventured to SPIE SE in Ergolding, where they made a locomotive-shaped paperweight from steel. This creative activity allowed them to appreciate the artistry and skill involved in metalworking.

As part of the "Job Tour", the students also visited a construction site, providing them with a first-hand look at the bustling world of construction. Lüftungs- und Klimatechnik Feistl and Ergomar were among the companies that opened their doors to the students, offering them a chance to learn about their operations and the roles they play in the local economy.

The "Job Tour" not only provided a valuable learning experience but also offered the students opportunities to try out various materials, tools, and techniques. Further "Job Tours" are planned for the future, with the upcoming event scheduled for the first week of the 2026 summer holidays. Details about the participating companies and registration procedures will be announced in due course.

This innovative approach to career education is a testament to the Landshut district's commitment to preparing its students for the future. By offering these experiences, students are given a chance to explore potential careers, develop new skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the local economy.
