Police Dual Study Program in North Rhine-Westphalia Opens for Applications

Interested individuals with a medium school leaving certificate now have a new path to join the police force through the Fachoberschule Polizei program in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). Here's what you need to know about the application process for the 2026 intake.

The Fachoberschule Polizei program is a dual study program that combines practical police work with academic studies. To be eligible, applicants typically require at least a Fachabitur (advanced technical college entrance qualification) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the NRW police. Physical fitness, psychological suitability, and clean criminal records are also standard prerequisites.

Candidates can apply through the official NRW police recruitment platform, www.team110.nrw. The application process usually involves online application, aptitude testing (including physical tests), an interview, and medical examinations.

While specific details for the 2026 application deadline and Fachoberschule Polizei program have not been explicitly confirmed, it is common for applications to be accepted around 6 to 12 months before the scheduled study start date. Therefore, it is advisable to check the official NRW police recruitment website regularly for updates.
