Empowering Innovators with a Moral and Analytical Approach: Stanford Seed's Approach to Entrepreneurship Education

The Stanford Seed Transformation Network Ghana (STN Ghana) recently gathered entrepreneurs and business leaders to empower them with an ethical and analytical outlook essential for their business growth.

Organized by STN Ghana, the inaugural entrepreneurship learning series aimed to help participants minimize errors and maintain good corporate governance and ethical standards needed for international competition. To achieve this, key industrial figures shared their expertise as mentors and coaches.

Kweku Asmah, the contact person from Automation Ghana Group, shared his insights with the hundreds of entrepreneurs and business owners present, highlighting that a company with unethical leadership is likely to foster a problematic work culture. Asmah urged employees and employers to clearly define ethical standards and actively support an ethical culture within organizations.

The CEO of STN Ghana Chapter further emphasized that effective leadership by example is vital in creating an ethical business environment, rather than just being a mere phrase. He stressed that managers play a crucial role in aligning team members with a company's values, and communication is key to achieving this.

According to him, if leaders compromise ethical standards and disregard rules, employees lose faith in the system and may regard ethical standards as impractical idealisms rather than essential business practices.

In connection with the workshop themed 'Influencing teams through ethics and critical thinking,' Linda Yaa Ampah, the President of STN Ghana Chapter, noted that the aim was to boost the ethical consciousness and critical thinking capacity of business leaders, entrepreneurs, and management.

She highlighted that the workshop was intended to help management staff of Ghanaian companies better understand their ethical expectations and responsibilities while improving critical thinking. To achieve this, she suggested sharing ideas, information, and experiences to expand the knowledge base on ethical business practices, which often appears neglected in corporate policies and procedures.
