El Salvador Launches AI & Robotics Program in 20 Schools
El Salvador's National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) has announced an innovative educational project focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics. The initiative, set to commence in late January, will benefit 20 public schools across the country. This project follows a meeting between Cathie Wood, CEO of ARK Invest, and President Nayib Bukele.
The program, a collaboration between ONBTC and Tether, aims to equip students with skills to tackle current and future technological challenges. It will incorporate AI and robotics into the school curriculum, complementing ONBTC's previous efforts in technological training. The initiative seeks to make El Salvador a 'Bitcoin Silicon Valley' and prepare students for the global labor market.
The Node Nation program, previously launched by ONBTC, has taught students coding fundamentals and node management in the Bitcoin Lightning network. This new project builds on that success, expanding the scope to include AI and robotics. The initial phase will cover 20 secondary education schools, with practical workshops and theoretical courses, and is expected to expand to more institutions in the future.
The educational program is part of ONBTC's broader strategy to attract crypto investors and entrepreneurs, fostering a conducive environment for technological development. With this initiative, El Salvador is positioning itself as a leader in AI and blockchain education, aiming to improve students' technical skills and create new economic opportunities.
