Day 1 of Reynolds Week 2014: A Focus on Financial Matters

The Reynolds Business Journalism Week 2014, held in [location], featured a keynote event titled "Business Journalists as Investigators with Raquel Rutledge". This event was not part of the concurrent four-day seminars, which included the Strictly Financials Seminar.

Raquel Rutledge, a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, delivered her keynote address. Rutledge won the Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting in 2010 for her investigations and stories on abuses in a state-run child care system. Her keynote, however, was not intended for business journalists or professors teaching business journalism.

During the Strictly Financials Seminar, professional journalists studied markets and sources under the guidance of Jimmy Gentry, who is affiliated with the University of Kansas. Gentry's focus was on markets and sources, providing valuable insights to the attendees.

Rutledge's keynote, on the other hand, focused on using data for community projects. She offered tips from her extensive experience in this area, providing a unique perspective for those in attendance. It is important to note that Rutledge is not affiliated with the University of Kansas.

Jimmy Gentry was not involved in Raquel Rutledge's keynote. The event, which was part of Reynolds Business Journalism Week 2014, is now available for viewing on Vimeo.

In addition to the Strictly Financials Seminar for professional journalists, another seminar was held for professors on teaching business journalism. This seminar provided an opportunity for educators to share best practices and learn from each other.

The Reynolds Business Journalism Week 2014 was a valuable event for those in the field of business journalism, offering insights from experienced professionals like Raquel Rutledge and providing opportunities for networking and learning.
