CyberWest 2023: Cybersecurity Summit for Non-IT Professionals

The 2023 CyberWest Summit, a significant event for cybersecurity enthusiasts and professionals, is set to take place on May 10th and 11th at the Pan Pacific Perth. The conference aims to educate non-IT professionals and leaders about the importance of cyber security in various sectors. Hon. Stephen Dawson, Minister for Innovation and Digital Economy, will open the event, while Troy Hunt, founder of haveibeenpwned.com, will deliver a keynote speech on security and technology concepts.

The conference will focus on three key streams: Critical Infrastructure, Secure Government, and Cyber Skills. Notable speakers include Terry Roberts, founder of Whitehawk, who will discuss Cyber Risk and Resilience across Critical Infrastructure. Dr. Newton Campbell, Director of Space Programs at AROSE Consortium, will delve into Internet Privacy and Cyber-Physical Systems. Prof. Peter Klinken, Chief Scientist of WA, will speak about the importance of cyber education for the economy.

Robert Potter, co-founder of Internet 2.0, and Cecily Rawlinson, Director of CyberWest and affiliated with the WA AustCyber Innovation Hub, will also be speaking at the event. Rawlinson emphasizes that cybersecurity should be a whole-of-organisation issue, highlighting its importance across all sectors and levels.
