Craft Guild of Chefs Extends Age Limit for 2020 Graduate Awards

The Craft Guild of Chefs has revamped its Kitchen and Pastry Graduate Awards for 2020, extending the age limit and offering more opportunities for young chefs. The changes aim to reflect industry trends and encourage participation.

The Guild has increased the age limit to 25, previously 23, to give more young chefs the chance to compete. Finalists will enjoy a culinary trip to Surrey, Sussex, and the South Coast before the final exam. Chefs can enter by completing a short form and confirming their mentor's name. The entry deadline is Friday 3 April 2020. Participants can choose between the Kitchen or Pastry Exam.

Russell Bateman returns as Chair of Examiners, while Will Torrent leads the examiners in the Pastry Graduate Award. Steve Munkley, Vice-President of the Guild, hopes the age limit extension will attract more chefs and aid staff retention.

The Craft Guild of Chefs invites young chefs to participate in the 2020 Graduate Awards, with the extended age limit and exciting opportunities. The entry deadline is fast approaching, so chefs are encouraged to submit their forms soon.
